Steve is an accomplished lecturer on design and heads-up Smallfrys unique customer focused strategic design work.

Martin Smith

Creative Consultant –  MA Industrial Design

Qualifications/Experience

Martin attained an MA in Industrial Design in Birmingham after gaining a degree in Multi-Disciplinary Design at Staffordshire University. This provided Martin with a broad background in all aspects of design and communication which has informed his strategic design work with Smallfry, for many international clients, right across the spectrum of new product development.

Job Title

Business Development Executive

Qualifications/Experience

After 16 years in the travel industry, a change of career found Tracy joining Smallfry in September 2009. Bringing a wealth of commercial experience and a degree in Operations Management, Tracy is responsible for growing the sales of the business and to develop long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications/Experience

With over 10 years of design consultancy experience Dan joined Smallfry in 2006. A BSc (Hons.) Product Design graduate, Dan’s work covers a wide range of design disciplines from award winning packaging to world leading medical equipment. He contributes to all aspects of the design process from design strategy and concept generation through to troubleshooting production.

Job Title

Creative Consultant – BA (Hons.) Industrial Design & Engineering

Qualifications/Experience

Graham graduated with a First Class BA (Hons.) degree in Industrial Design and Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University in 1997. Since then he has worked for a number of UK based manufacturing companies including Stanley Tools, Richardson Sheffield, Irwin and Swift Leisure. A skilled Pro Engineer user, Graham focuses on translating initial concepts into award winning manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications/Experience

Hana first dabbled with Smallfry in 2003 as a student on her placement year whilst studying BA (Hons.) Product Design at The Nottingham Trent University. Back with us now since the start of 2010, Hana brings her commercial experience from her time as a member of the Packaging Team at Alliance Boots.

Rocio Trigo Mendez

Job Title

Creative Consultant – Masters in Design Engineering, Technical Industrial Design Engineering

Qualifications/Experience

Rocio finished her Design Engineering Masters in Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain) in 2009 following a degree in Technical Industrial Design in A Coruña University (Spain).

Since then, she has moved between countries, gaining experience with Indesit Company in Fabriano (Italy), the Carmelo Di Bartolo Design Innovation studio in Milan and the Northern Ireland Technology Centre in Belfast.

After obtaining his BA (Hons.) in Industrial Design from Loughborough university, Charles joined Smallfry
in 2011. Being a recent edition to the Smallfry team, he brings fresh perspective, a creative mind, an eye
for design and the skills necessary to develop a good idea into a successful product.

Andy Fan

Andy Fan

Job Title

Creative Consultant – MSc Medical Device Design

Qualifications/Experience

Having graduated with a BA (Hons.) Industrial Design, Andrew continued his studies to follow
on with an MSc in Medical Device Design from the National College of Art and Design in
Ireland in 2010. He is now putting what he’s studied into practice at Smallfry. As well as
using his sketching skills, Andrew uses his Solidworks abilities to help generate, visualize and
communicate his designs.

Adele Graham

New Business Development

Qualifications/Experience

With over 9 years’ experience in the Pharma industry and a First Class Degree in Applied Physiology
Adele has worked in various roles for a Global Pharmaceutical company, accompanied by 5 years
working in Business Development within product development innovation/design industry.

Chatty, Happy, Excellent at spinning plates and making sure that people get what they want, when
they want and way beyond their expectations

Liz Lewis

Job Title

Admin Assistant

Qualifications/Experience

Liz joined Smallfry in July 2011 bringing with her 21 years’ experience of working as a partner alongside her husband in their heating and plumbing business, providing admin support and dealing with customer enquiries.

Liz is responsible for all the business administration on behalf of the design team, including making travel arrangements and ensuring that ISO 9001 procedures are complied with as well as supporting Finance and the Managing Director.

Student Product Designer – Product Design (BSc. Hons.) Brunel University

Qualifications/Experience

Currently on placement with Smallfry, Ollie is a Product Design (BSc.Hons.)student within the
engineering and design school at Brunel University. Believing in the importance of user-centred design to
the success of a product, he enjoys looking into the emotional as well as physical connotations of
design features. He is excited to experience design in an environment outside of education, to gain
further insight into design in a ‘real world’ scenario, as well as improve his practical abilities.
